Abby Dean Cheney
BRIGHAM CITY – Abby Dean Cheney passed away from a short term medical event at Brigham City Hospital on January 20, 2014. He was surrounded by his family and friends.
Dean was born October 29, 1926 in Corinne, Utah to loving parents, Frank Walton Cheney and Mary Elizabeth Cotes Cheney.
Dean married Vonda Johnson on June 29, 1949, in the Logan Temple. Into their home came four beautiful children: DeAnna, Christine, Calvin and Bryan.
Dean spent his working life as an engineer at Thiokol and kept busy with part time jobs fixing TV’s, running the projector at the Capital Theater and driving bus.
He was a member of the Brigham City Eleventh Ward, Brigham City 1st Ward and Perry 4th Ward.
Dean is survived by his daughter DeAnna Cheney (Lynn) Hulme of Avon, UT; Calvin DeVon (Alexis) Cheney of Reno, NV; Bryan Dean (Debbie) Cheney of Taylorsville, UT; eight grandchildren: Tami Hulme Olson, Mindy Hulme Potter, Travis Hulme, Josh Cheney, Zachariah Cheney and Cory Cheney, Jason Shepherd, Jessica Cheney, Tyree and 17 great-grandchildren.
Those who preceded him in death were his wife Vonda, daughter Christine, brothers: Walton and Reed and his father and mother.
