A.W. Pennington, 75, passed away Tuesday September 13, 2011 at his home in McCordsville. He was born on March 19, 1936 in Bowling Green, KY to the late Albert and Josephine (Clemens) Pennington.
He worked as a construction superintendant for 31 years, first at Tousley-Bixler Construction and later for the Skillman Corporation, retiring in 1998. A.W. also loved tending his yard and flower garden and was a volunteer at the Museum of 20th Century Warfare (M20CW).
A.W. is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years Wanda (Young) Pennington; daughter-in-law Marylen Wallace of Indianapolis; grandchildren Carrie Ann, Bethany, and Donnie; great-grandchildren Madison and Matthew; and sisters Wilda Lockhart of Rockfield, KY, Ellen McDaniel of Bowling Green, KY and Corene Holder of Oakland, KY. He was preceded in death by his son Mark A. Pennington in April; brothers William W. and Allen Pennington; and sisters Elsie Wilson, Beulah Long, and Katheryn Williams.
