Albert John Brookhart, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 9, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

John was born September 24, 1945, in Boise, Idaho, to Albert Hume Brookhart and Ferol Maude Shaffer Brookhart. He grew up in Boise and graduated from Boise High School. While in high school, he worked at his father’s machine shop. He then attended Ricks College in Rexburg and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

On July 27, 1967, he married Rosalie Cooper in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born four children: Christopher, Ryan, Lindee, and Jacob. John and Rosalie were later divorced. On April 19, 1986, he married Leola Kearsley in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. John and Leola had two children: Matthew and Emily.

John worked for Morrison-Knudsen, primarily living and working in Boise but with temporary assignments in Maryland, Hawaii, and Wyoming. He eventually settled in Idaho Falls, where he worked as the comptroller for Development Workshop. In 1986, he began working for a public accounting firm, and in 1988, he bought his own accounting practice, a family business that would become a first job for all of his children.
