A. Howard McLaughlin, 86, of Woodbury, died Friday, December 10. He was the husband of Jeannette (Keller) McLaughlin for more than sixty-two years.
Dr. McLaughlin was born in Bridgeport, on April 14, 1924, the son of the late Albert A. McLaughlin, DDS and Edna (Howard) McLaughlin. A graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport, he attended Trinity College (Hartford) on the Navy V-12 program and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. McLaughlin practiced dentistry for more than fifty-two years in Woodbury where he resided with his wife and six children. Dr. McLaughlin served in the US Navy from 1943-1946. He joined his fatheréaa¢s dental practice in 1948 in Bridgeport until he enlisted in the military during the Korean War in 1950 as an Air Force Captain in the dental clinic. He was stationed at Lawson Air Force Base, Georgia and later served in Nancy, France. Upon his discharge he returned to practice with his father in Bridgeport before he opened his own dental practice in Woodbury in 1952 where he practiced until retiring in 2000.
Dr. McLaughlin was actively involved in civic and political associations in Woodbury. They included Lions Club, Recreation Association, Little League, Boysé¢aa¢ Baseball, Boy Scouts of America Troop 480, Board of Education, Republican Town Committee, Woodbury Savings Bank corporator, Zoning Board of Appeals, and St.
