A.G. Bell of Boise passed away peacefully on November 28, 2010, his 94th birthday.

He was born in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho on November 28, 1916 to Charles and Edith Bell. A.G. attended school in Lava until his family moved to Pocatello in 1935 where he met the love of his life, Lola Bringhurst. The couple married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on June 24, 1940.

A.G. worked as a Federal Civilian Firefighter for 30 years, retiring in 1972. He briefly served in the US Army as a Military Fire Fighter from 1945 to 1946. Although formally retired, A.G. never stopped working. Many colleagues remember “Chief” as hardworking, reliable, dedicated but most of all honest.

As a husband he was kind, responsible and adoring. As a father, “dad” was hardworking, tough, protective and caring. As a grandfather, “Pa” was generous, patient and energetic. A.G. accepted and welcomed everyone into his home with open arms. He taught us all the importance of a life serving those you love. A.G., we felt your love.

He was survived by his wife, Lola; his four children, Evelyn, Steven, Jeanie, and Kent; son in law, John Steenbakkers; daughter in law, Francia Bell; his sister, Carol Marston; eleven grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son David Bell.
