Mary Imogene Crum, 88, of rural Virginia, IL died February 27, 2009 at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, IL.

She was born September 21, 1920 in Marshall, IL; the daughter of Aaron and Imogene Berry Liffick. She married Charles William Crum on August 24, 1951 in Tuscola, IL and he preceded in death on February 21, 2006.

She is survived by two sons, Reuel L. Crum (wife, Brenda) of Virginia and James A. Crum of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Amber R. Henson (husband, Patrick) of Virginia and Brandon G. Crum of Virginia; three great grandchildren, Alexis, Tanner, and Jersey; a brother, Dee Liffick (wife, Norma) of Oakland; a niece; and a nephew.

Mrs. Crum was a graduate of Casey, IL High School and earned a bachelors degree in biology at Eastern Illinois University and a masters degree in zoology at the University of Illinois. She was a dedicated teacher in many schools across Illinois for 25 years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Virginia United Methodist Church and the churchs United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Arenzville American Legion Auxiliary, Household Science Club, Retired Teachers Association, Cass-Morgan Farm Bureau Womens Committee, and Cass County Home Extension where she volunteered many hours at the Cass County Fair.
