Karl Ludwig Bretthauer, 81, of Oxford, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, April 17, 2020.
He was born in Kassel, Germany on January 11, 1939, son of the late Wilhelm and Marta Bretthauer. Karl was united in marriage to Julia Marie Gregory on February 7, 1978 in Georgia. He was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church and the Oxford Fire Department. During his working years, Karl was a Merchant Marine and Executive Chef. He worked in Clear Water Beach, Florida and was the assistant manager of the Iron Skillet at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas. Karl loved to fish, hunt, go boating and watching sports, especially football.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Bretthauer of Oxford, Arkansas; daughter, Treva Rush and husband Mike of Melbourne, Arkansas; stepsons, David Stanley of Oxford, Arkansas and Greg Stanley of Florida and grandson, Dillon Stanley of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelm and Marta Bretthauer; daughter, Pamela Hunt; grandson, Michael Hunt and one brother.
